Living Intentionally in 2026

So 2026 has started, and I knew that going into this new year, I wanted to do things differently. I felt like I couldn’t stay in the same mindset I had for the past few years. Something had to change.
Going into this year, I really felt like I needed to change my mindset, my life, my habits — and I needed to start living. Not that I haven’t lived before, but I hadn’t intentionally lived before. And that makes a big difference.
So for 2026, I decided to make some changes.

The first change I made was with my goals. I wanted them to be more achievable, more realistic. Of course, I still want to travel and do exciting things, but I had to stop and really ask myself: What do I actually want? Where do I want my life to go?
For example, one of my goals is going to the gym at least twice a week. I’ve had this goal before, but I used to say five times a week — which honestly was not achievable for me. And every time I failed, I felt disappointed. This year, I don’t want to set myself up for frustration. I want goals that push me, but that are realistic.
I’m in college studying psychology, so some of my goals are related to that. I’ve been thinking long-term — like doing a master’s degree, which is something I really want. And maybe even doing it abroad. So now I’m asking myself: what do I need to do this year to make that possible?
That’s kind of my mindset for 2026. The goals matter, but the habits matter even more.
I want to sleep better. I want to take care of my body. I want to challenge myself every month — but in small, consistent ways. Not something extreme like working out for hours, but something simple like: how many push-ups can I do every day this month? It may sound small, maybe even silly, but it keeps me moving forward. And it’s achievable.
Another big thing for me this year is finances. Of course, I have a goal for how much I want to save by the end of the year. But more than that, I want awareness. I want to know exactly how much I spend every single day. So I’ve started the habit of writing down everything I spend daily. That way, I can consciously understand where my money is going.
And I also want adventure.
I’m following this idea of planning six mini-adventures throughout the year — one every other month. So that would be six adventures in total. I’ve already written down five. Four are confirmed. The fifth one isn’t open yet, so I’m still waiting to see if it will happen. There are other ideas I want to plan too.
Having my finances organized helps me plan these adventures intentionally. I know how much I’ll spend, where my money is going, and how I can make these experiences happen.
Of course, I also have a big wish list for this year. I wrote down six big wishes — things I would absolutely love to happen. But they are not the main focus. They are not the goal.
They are the consequence.
If I stay consistent, if I build the habits, if I commit to the small daily actions — those wishes might naturally become real.
So this is my mindset for 2026.
Not perfection.
Not extreme change.
Just intentional living.
And honestly, that already feels different.
